I hope you do and N4 version!
Watching in 2021 ;)
"Perforations of his person... by many bullets."
Thank you so much for this Tutorial. I want to get into the game (just bought a starter and 2 Mechs) and involve a couple of friends in Infinity. You helped me understand the game alot better! - I have one question in regards to ciritcal hits with BS. Does the Burst Value change the Critical Hit value you need to achieve in order to automatically win a firefight (Kappa goes from 12 to 15 foe)?
What does forward observer mean? I'm getting the shasvastii box with the 8 bottles of paint and the shasvastii nox troop forward observer in it.
Thank you. As part of a new group this video was awesome. I've never commented before about a video but this gave a great indication of the game play
Great video thanks
Hands down the best tutorial I've seen … for any tabletop game.
Great video! More of this pls!
Just purchased the Wildfire Box set and found this video..... perfect timing and very helpful (subscription engaged)
I am overwhelmed. Where should i start for a casual game with a friend? What do I need to buy?
You could buy one of the "operation" starter sets that includes half a dozen models each for two sides, and follow the rules and missions you get in your box. Or check out my tutorial video about Tabletop Simulator, then join my discord, and ask someone to help demo the game for you online.
@VaulSC nope. There are some groups in my area I understand.
Do you know someone who already plays? See if you could have a game with them, and use their models to try it out before buying anything.
Thank you so much for your video. It is an incredibly thorough walkthrough of the basic rules. You provide understandable and well simulated examples that allow for the best learning experience. As a criticism I would say that most of your video the figures and dice in the foreground are blurry and the background is in focus. Perhaps you need to alter the scenery a smidge or refocus the camera to the miniatures. I really appreciate your hard work. You have earned a subscriber good sir.
3 Quick Questions if someone doesn't mind helping me out. 1: When you ARO or React with shoot vs shoot do each of you measure range from the most beneficial position when it comes to each of your modifiers? Or does one player pick a spot and both models shoot at that specific point in the action. 2: At 15:05 is Vaul saying that a player can shoot halfway through their move then finish the move instead of how in most Wargames you have to finish your move then shoot? 3: If an opponent's model is out in the open and in line of sight and moves once, but you know his second move will move him closer can you delay your reaction? Or do you have to react to a model the second you can see them? Thanks for any help you can give me!
VaulSC awesome thanks a bunch Vaul!
1. You each choose your own point to shoot, usually at the moment which will give you the best range type for your weapon. 2. You declare your entire move first. Then you can nominate any point along that move to take your shot from. This is pretty unique to infinity. 3. You can't delay unless the enemy is a marker, or unless they came within 8" and you have the sixth sense special rule
My only complain about Infinity (and other army ready made games) is that as a person I really don't do well with authorities...The situation when someone is telling me how good (or bad) my force is (meaning giving me pre-generated profiles for my soldiers) , and basically creating it for me, is a thing that's always putting me a bit off (and that's not only true for Infinity but other army books based games The big GW comes in mind obviously...) Now that is precisely why I use those superb Infinity models for Scrappers instead:-). Anyways solid material! Best of luck to you all in a new year and happy wargaming all!!!
Congratulation good sir, I am new to Infinity and your videos are an excellent starting point. Keep the good work, In the future I would like to see a Varuna Sectorial Analysis.
I feel like this is still only a small % of the rules
Precious video, hope you’ll do more like that digging into the rules going alongside the whole rule book
Cheers for the great tutorial. I’ve wanted for over a year now to dwell into board games like Infinity, Age of Sigma and 40k stuff, but I’ve never really had time to go. But all that’s about to change. So Sunday I’m going for my very first Warhammer Underworlds introduction and Monday it’s my very first Infinity introduction. Super excited
Are you aware that your white dice are spin down counters? Rather than being in a random order, they seem to have each number next to the one lower and higher than it. This is used in Magic The Gathering to easily keep track of life, but in a case like Infinity or even something like D&D, they aren't as good. Other than that, great video.
Another great video! Thanks again for all the hard work you put in.
good stuff Matte
Awesome review and tutorial. INplans is full of videos about infinity, but no one convince me to play this game like your video. This is what I was looking for. Subbed!
Great explanations - evil auto-focus. I'm starting with Infinity and I'm really learning a lot from this. I also read the manual - damn is that thing HUGE. Your videos really help getting all the niches and hints and see the rules applied.
When would a new version come out?
Code One will release in April, after Operation Kaldstrom is released.
N4 is announced for 2020, 1. half iirc
So if spend one resource to run from behind crate 1 to behind crate 2 and my enemy decides to shoot at me and I decide to shoot back. Does that then count as a long action as I both moved and shot or can I still move after that is resolved?
Ah yep that answers my question perfectly thank you!
The resource you spend is an order token. You can choose to do two short skills with this if you want. The first short skill is the move that takes you from crate1 to crate2. Then your enemy shoots with their automatic reaction order. If you shoot back, that's your second short skill. That's not a long action, it's two short skills, but its all you can do until you spend a new order.
Fantastic vid! Just starting out and this was super helpful. Also wondering where you got your D20s that were used in the video?
they're MTG spindown dice
Great job on the video. I eagerly await Part 2!
Quality - so helpful - thank you. Looking forward to the next instalment.....
Brilliant! Very well done guide! Easy to teach new players :) Thank you!!
Watching this video while i'm waiting for my operation box set to arrive :)
Thank you thank you thank you. Most of these guides are just 2 people playing the game then saying "got it"? Your the best. Difference between a teacher (you) and a normal person (people with really good intentions) -> the amount of details again your the best
Nice video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Perfect timing, haven't played yet, but tomorrow! Tomorrow I will have my first demo game and more!
@Echtvergoldet Started with a smaller Icestorm match and built up from there. First two matches I got hilariously floored, but on the third my opponent had very rough luck so I came on top. After that we played two more which were tight fights.
I hope you liked it!
That kind of video is great. It helps a lot to promote the game by showing interested people what the game is like and ease their fear of the rule system, which is not very complicated once you get the basic, order / Aro / order / resolution system in mind. Great job 👍
While other INplansrs also cover Infinity, Vaul is the only one to do so reliably and in high quality. Truly a community ambassador, we really appreciate your efforts.
Great job, again! Keep up the excellent work.
Your blackjack analogy is probably the best explanation of face-to-face rolls I've heard. Edit: I think the daunting thing about Infinity is the sheer number of special rules the game has at present. This probably needs some streamlining.
@hackhenk oh don't worry. The streamlining I'm talking about is just not having to reference every ability and weapon. There are just to many terms for a new player to have to look up more than they are throwing dice. The abilities should still exist, but the can probably consolidate some named rules.
Agreed. Dont worry streamline doesnt mean removing complexity just means making more intuitive
Not too much, I hope. I specifically started Infinity for it's complexity.
Another great video man, showed this to my friend who's just starting out. Keep up the good work
You are a steward to the game. INplans is barren of quality Infinity content...especaily "how to" videos. Good on you.
