Orange marmalade recipe

Ingredients :
Oranges : 3 (500grams)
Sugar : 500 grams
Water : 1 and 1/4 litres
Juice of 1 lemon

    • Vanessa Mpofu I’m not sure how long does Recipe’s owner keep. But I boiled a container before use it and let it dry completely. So it stays good for over month. Usually it’s gone too quick tho!

    • Use measuring cups, for juice and sugar... 200 grams of sugar is equal to 1 cup and 250 ml of juice is equal to 1 cup

  • I made it 3days back and it is so tasty delicious. Thanks Shazia for the recipe. I have stored it in a glass jar since then but today I felt like a bit of crystallisation of the sugar. Is it a normal thing or have I done any mistake? I haven't kept it on freezer. So I thought that it is happening for that reason. please Shazia let me know how to stop getting it crystallized to get that delicious fluid back.

  • This might sound like a silly question, but can the muslin be washed out and re-used for more marmalade making in future? I’ve never cooked anything with muslin before, so I’m genuinely clueless. This looks too tasty not to try out 🙂

    • @shaziya's recipes actually what I mean is that those peels(juliennes) became the part of Jam so does that taste good or I can remove them through strainer

  • I'm hav ing problems in making this marmalade, what is the thickness of your gelatine? When I make this marmalade, the water goes down in the pot which means there's less marmalade. I don't use granulated sugar, I use splenda , which means I use less, which in turn means it probably doesn't thicken as much. How many oranges would you need to make just 1 jar of marmalade? I wonder could you get back to me on this? Thank you.😎🤘👍
