Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called on Canadians Tuesday to support the Muslim community by letting members know they are respected and loved, following Sunday's London, Ont. vehicle attack that police say was targeted and killed three generations of a Muslim family.
Earlier, Trudeau called it a “terrorist attack," when speaking to the House of Commons Tuesday, adding the attack was “a brutal, cowardly, and brazen act of violence."
"This was no accident,” he said.
On Sunday, police say a 20-year-old driving a pickup truck mounted a curb and struck the family, and then drove away. Four members of the family died and one child is in hospital with injuries. The police chief, Steve Williams, said they believe the victims were targeted because of their Muslim faith.
